Classes focus on releasing tension, connecting with the breath, deep breathing, stretching and helping students to gain greater strength, stability and flexibility. Gentle yoga moves slower, using classical Hatha yoga postures, emphasizing correct alignment, modifications and variations to accommodate all levels of yoga students.Tuesday and Friday Gentle Yoga.
Heal and open your body, quiet your mind, and move into a deeper sense of relaxation. Classes use props to support students in longer held passive poses, where the focus is on the breath and letting go. This gentle class is appropriate for seniors, mommies to-be, or those recovering from, or living with: injury, illness, stress, addictions, trauma, grief and loss. Weekly we’ll explore the balance between effort and relaxation as we combine the strength and focus of held postures and the serenity and release of breath directed movement.
All props are provided. All levels are welcome.
